Seamless from the start - I simply had to sort my personal kit, get on the plane and away we went from there. Needless to say Juan advised about kit, preparation and all that before we actually got on the plane but it really did seem that simple.
Juan is one of those people who blends a real interest in his job (it is a job after all) but also his passion for what is 'out there'; he does this without being patronising or overly 'spiritual'. He is organised but not regimented and aside from his wealth of knowledge about the area is like the scenery, spectacular.
Not once did I not trust implicitly what Juan advised or recommended and the whole team really added to my experiences and enjoyment of the trip. This again, however, is not a suprise as the team were chosen by Juan for their blend of skills and personalities; I still don't know how Jonathan manages to carry a pack that big, or if Mickey is still making those lovely flat breads or if the mighty Pablo has moved any washing machines recently.
My only regret is that I have not yet been able to go on another trip with Juan and the guys.

"Tequirque organized a hiking trip to Laguna El Cepo on May 2008. We walked for a little more than 4 hours following the shore of the Cochiguaz river to then climb a steep hillside to where the cattle grazed freely. The camp at 2900 meter above sea level already presented another landscape: sky, hills, lagoons, colors, contrasts and silence, it is to say: contemplation.
Laguna Verde is a mirror lake that collects the cold waters coming from the mountain gorge down to where Andean Geese bathe. Laguna Amarilla, some meters further up, is a true Martian landscape, a place where with no thought you can get the best photographic shots. Tequirque has good mountain equipment, adequate food and the evident experience necessary to resist the long day walks and the cold mountain nights, which does not stop being a challenge for anyone. To be with friends in a place like this is to be free, and feeling like a magician for a few days. "
