SAN PEDRO OVERLAND

Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights

Day 1 Our guide will meet you at the Calama airport. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama is an hour drive through the Atacama desert. Lodging in San Pedro, dinner and meet to discuss trip program. Depending on arrival time, we can go to the salt lake or other area close to San Pedro for sun set views.

Day 2 After a relaxed breakfast we will move to Salar de Atacama to see the wildlife of the Salt lake. Visit the ojos de agua del salar were you will be able to take a bath and experience how your body floats in salt water. Back to San Pedro for Lunch. In the afternoon visit to the arqueological Le Peige museum that houses a complete collection of the Likan Antay culture and introduce us how they were and lived. In late afternoon we will move to the Salt Range (Cordillera de la Sal) an amazing formation of the Atacama desert where we will admire the landscape of the driest desert of the world, with time to see the sunset. Back to San Pedro, lodging and dinner.

Day 3 Drive early in the morning to visit the geometric hexagon formations of the Salt Lake of Atacama , to then drive to the high altitude lakes of Meñique and Miscanti for a walk along the shores and enjoy lunch with the unique altiplanic landscape full of contrasts. After lunch drive to visit one last unmissable altiplanic Salt lake Aguas Calientes. On the way back to San Pedro we will stop for a short visit the charming altiplanic village of Toconao , then back to San Pedro, Lodging and dinner.

Day 4 Drive early in the morning drive to the altiplanic platue to visit the Monks of the Pacana, unique geological columns of stone carved and sculpted by time and nature. Continue towards thrue the platue to reach the Tara Salt Lake, one of the most spectacular salt lakes of the Los Flamingos National Park. Lunch in the beautiful scenery and drive back to San Pedro in the afternoon. Lodging and dinner.

Day 5 Drive before sunrise drive to Geysers del Tatio to experience the eruption of steam and vapor from the geysers at the geothermic field. Something a bit out of this world that only occurs during sunrise. Breakfast after the eruptions and then move to visit Machuca a charming Altiplanic village. Then we will continue to the natural hot springs of Puritama to enjoy a nice lunch with a refreshing swim in thermals waters. Afternoon to relax in the springs. Drive back to San Pedro, lodging and farewell dinner.

Day 6 Transfer by van to the Calama airport. End of trip.
