Who we are

Tequirque is a locally owned and based Chilean tour operator focused on quality, small group responsible travel journeys and experiences. We believe in Fair trade, Leave No Trace and the right to have Fun. For over ten years we have been exploring and enjoying trips to wilderness areas through out Chile.
We believe we have discovered the best way to share, respect and appreciate such a unique environment and culture.

Place of Lizards

That is what Tequirque means in Kakán, the native language of Diaguita Culture. Located on the Pacific´s coast at 29°54'28'' S latitude and 71°15'15'' O longitude La Serena is the southern gateway to the Atacama desert and Altiplanic plateau of the Andes. Sunny weather and clear skies guaranteed most of the year allows us to explore valleys, climb and cross mountain passes, float around islands and discover a unique environments. To the north the land expands over the driest desert in the world and to well over 6000 meters high.

What we do

We take small group cultural active, or easy, trips to amazing places. Be it via an overland drive, or a trek or by boat or kayak, we strive in maximizing the experience. We visit unique forest in the desert, stargaze at the clearest skies, hike valleys dwelled by native cultures 2500 years ago, and even have time to enjoy the fine wines and visit the local markets. Tequirque takes pride in running trips that respect and support the local communities and environments.
